Storm Creek Raises a Record $40,000+ for Charity

Storm Creek has raised a record $40,434 for participating charity partners during its 6th Annual Warehouse Sales, November 2-3 and 23-24, 2018.

The majority of the funds were raised through Storm Creek’s Shop for a Cause Program, which gives shoppers an opportunity to shop, save, and give. During the two weekends of the warehouse sale, shoppers can select a charity partner they would like to support and present a charity coupon (available online or from each charity) at checkout. They get $10 off their order and Storm Creek donates 10% to the selected partner.

“The initial goal for this year’s sales was $25,000, but the amount of continued support was absolutely astonishing,” said Storm Creek President Doug Jackson. “I think one of the key reasons our warehouse sale is so unique is because of the charity aspect. It’s not just a regular clearance sale. It’s an event that gives people the opportunity to give back just by shopping. People can get great deals on our apparel and support those in need at the same time. It’s really a win-win.”

More than 30 charity partners participated in the Shop for a Cause Program, including: American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Animal Ark, Apple Valley Hockey, Finnegan’s Community Fund, The Firefly Sisterhood, Feed by Starving Children, Feed My Starving Children Cannon Falls Mobile Pack, Gobble Gait (Hastings Family Services), Firehawks Hockey, Friends of Twin Cities in Motion, Hastings Boy Scout Troop 503, Hastings Hockey, Hastings Volleyball Boosters, Hastings Wrestling, Inver Grove Heights Band Boosters, The Open Door, Pine Harbor Christian Academy, Ronald McDonald House, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Save the Boundary Waters, Secondhand Hounds, Servant Road, Special Olympics Minnesota, St. John’s School, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, St. Philip’s Early Learning Center, Swingin’ on the River Show Choir, Tee It Up for the Troops, TLC of Hastings, and United Way of Hastings.

In addition, Storm Creek sold custom logo apparel during the sale. Visitors chose from several Minnesota designs to heat-transfer onto the Storm Creek Eternity ¼ Zip Pullovers, and the shirts were decorated while they shopped. A portion from each pullover sold also went to charity.

“We are so passionate about giving back to our community, so naturally as a company we wanted to embrace that same philosophy,” said Teresa Fudenberg, Storm Creek CEO. “A few years ago, we started the Embrace the Cause Initiative to bring in charity partners that could benefit from the sale. Since then, this program has evolved into a much broader program and all kinds of other fun partnerships. Through the power of apparel, we work together to make a significant impact on our environment and community alike.”
